It's been a tough month, here at Fight Smart.
We are migrating to a new membership platform, which will make things more awesome in the long run, but MAN... so far it's just breaking everything.
People are yelling at me.
It's bumming me out.
I just want to make videos in my padded garage, man!
BUT...
I shall not falter.
I remember in 2009 I got arrested.
I was growing some "plants" that are apparently "illegal".
Pfffft.
I was evicted from my training studio in Philadelphia, all of my money was confiscated, and I had nowhere to go but my brother's house. I had nothing. (And I was a felon).
...but my brother had a garage.
I worked for 16 hours a day, to move all of the stored crap down into the basement.
I went to my parents house, and combined every old white paint can together, so i wouldn't have weird splotchy and stained walls.
I found a section of chain link fence at a junk yard, and built one 'caged' wall to serve as a video background.
I bounced drunken idiots for $80/night until I had enough to buy a $200 camera on craigslist.
And Fight Smart was born.
Except Fight Smart really sucked at first.
I filmed a YEAR of uncomfortably bad footage before throwing it all out and starting over.
Look, nobody here is a stranger to adversity...
But the way that you handle the setbacks will set you apart.
You've heard it before. It's just words until you decide to make it real.
If you want something BIGGER or BETTER in this life, you better step your ass up and take it.
Make it happen. Don't accept 'no' for an answer.
Unless it's an answer from a girl.
Then sit your ass back and take 'no' for an answer.
Occasionally, I rely on my buddy Shia Lebouf to remind me how to push forward.
This video resonates with me deeply... despite it's ridiculousness.
"If you're tired of starting over, stop giving up."
It's a simple message. Take your dreams, make them real.
Insist on it.
Now, I realize that Shia Lebouf might not be your ideal source of motivation...
So please watch this video as well...
If that doesn't make you want to step-up, and dominate this life, then man... you don't even have a pulse.
So how bad do you want to succeed?
HOW MUCH are you willing to give to make your dreams a reality?
Right now, I want very much to have a membership platform that works for you seamlessly... and you better believe I'm going to make it happen.
