Marvin has to be one of the best ever. Fought everyone and left with style. No wonder they made him wait so long for his title shot.

This is actually not related to the Hagler interview, my comment is about the experiment in the ‘Knife Game’ that you mentioned in your recent email.

It’s about time that someone make an honest to goodness study on knife disarming techniques available today. I had a near encounter with knife-wielding drunk in the past, I only have a thick book to parry, luckily he did not attack and backed away when I confronted him.

I totally agree with your initial assessment/estimate of the ‘effectivity’ of existing Knife Disarm techniques. I can’t wait for the results of your study.

    Keep it up!

Marvelous Marvin Hagler was one of my favorite boxers from what is one of my favorite divisions in boxing history. Sugar Ray, Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran and Hagler…he was a total bad ass among some insane talent.

Wow, Marvelous Marvin looks great, and sounds even better. I was a big fan of his when I was a kid, and I don’t remember him being so articulate. He clearly hasn’t squandered his retirement years like so many other athletes.
