This is nothing new. Michael Jai White used that technique in Never back down. And we use it 7 Star Praying Mantis. Look up the traditional form Bung Bo.
I am afraid to Google “Bung Bo” but feel free to share a link.
That was in that never back down movie. Michael Jai White did that low kick block. It was eogher the 2nd or 3rd movie.
